Yukon Federation of Labour Stands in Solidarity and Mourning with the People of Nova Scotia
Like many Canadians, the Yukon Federation of Labour is saddened and in disbelief by the news of terror and mourning, coming from Nova Scotia on April 19, 2020.
“The YFL stands in solidarity and in mourning with the people of Nova Scotia who have lost their family, friends, colleagues and comrades. We also stand in solidarity with the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union and other unions who have tragically lost one of their members, said Ron Rousseau, President of the Yukon Federation of Labour.
“With the upcoming National Day of Mourning on April 28, it’s hard to add names to the list of workers that have been killed or seriously injured in the workplace. I send my sincerest condolences to all those affected by this tragedy and hope they find strength and comfort during these trying times”, continued Rousseau.
YFL encourages its members and Yukoners to seek out mental health and counselling support, as they process this incomprehensible tragedy.
