The Yukon Federation of Labour is an umbrella organization made up of affiliated unions and locals from throughout the Yukon. Our total membership numbers more than 4,500, representing workers in all facets of the labour force and both the public and private sectors.
The governing body of the Yukon Federation of Labour is its triennial delegated convention made up of delegates from all affiliates.
Between conventions, the YFL is governed by:
- The Executive Board-Ranking Officers: five officers duly elected at convention.
- The Executive Council; members of the Executive Board and affiliate representatives based on affiliate membership numbers.
In Yukon there are no local or regional Labour Councils as there are in the provinces. Here, the Executive Council members provide the regional component of the governing body of the Yukon Federation of Labour between conventions.
- All affiliated organizations pay a per capita tax of $2.55 per member to the Yukon Federation of Labour.
- The Canadian Labour Congress assists the Yukon Federation of Labour in carrying out its mandate.
