Advanced Occupational Health & Safety for Committees - Price: $99

This course is designed to provide OH&S representatives, committee members and employers with the tools and resources to help improve the success of their workplace OH&S program. 

It is recommended that participants complete a basic OH&S course prior to enrollment in this course.

Basic Occupational Health & Safety *

This course is designed to educate workers and employers on their rights and responsibilities, as mandated within the Yukon Occupational Health & Safety Act.  Participants will gain valuable insight into potential workplace hazards, and learn how to stay safe within their work environments. 

Fee: $99.00.  Free for workers in the Foreign Worker Training Program.

Day courses: 9am - 5pm

Evening courses: 6pm - 9pm over 2 evenings.

Chemical Hazards in the Workplace/WHMIS Awareness *

This course explores the damaging health & environmental effects of the many chemicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis. Toxic chemical ingredients can cause serious health effects.  Through this course, we will examine those linked to cancer, neurological disorders, and asthma.It's vital that we take action.  Ask yourself:  Do I know what a "safe" level of chemical exposure is?  If not, then this course is for you.

Fee: $99.00.  Free for workers in the Foreign Worker Training Program.

Fundamentals of Return to Work Planning (2 day) - Price: $175

This course offers an array of hands on tools and practical applications as participants work together to create functional Return to Work plans. There are many barriers to overcome and pitfalls to avoid; employers & employees need to work together to implement successful RTW processes and programs within their organizations. This course will set you on your way!

Fundamentals of RTW Planning for Small Business - Price: $99

This 1 day course is specifically designed for the needs of Yukon employers with less than 20 employees. Through an array of hands on tools, practical applications and discussion, participants will work together to create functional RTW plans, while learning what is needed to develop viable RTW programs within their businesses,

Preventing Violence in the Workplace - Price: $99

The repercussions of workplace violence can be devastating for both workers and employers.  This course assists in identifying potentially violent situations, and in developing plans for violence prevention.

All workers have the right to a safe, non-violent workplace!

Ready-Set: Return to Work Basics - Price: $49

This 1/2 day course provides an overview of WCB, and introduces the concepts of RTW planning and the new supporting RTW legislation. The essentials of RTW are discussed, along with key points to keep in mind when getting workers back to work early and safely. 

Return to Work Refresher - Price: $49

This 2 hour session provides an overview of the new RTW legislation for participants who attended the RTW course series prior to July, 2008. Relevant sections of the Worker's Compensation Act and the supporting RTW policies will be reviewed in the context of a general refresher of key RTW concepts,

Standard First Aid CPR/C Course *

Comprehensive First Aid and CPR techniques for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or at home.  Course is 16 hours scheduled over two full days, and includes AED certification.  Meets the OHS regulation for Standard First Aid.  

*Courses will be scheduled accordingly for participants of the Foreign Worker Training Program once Chemical Hazards/WHMIS Awareness has been completed. 

Fee: $150.00.  Free for workers in the Foreign Worker Training Program.

Understanding & Preventing Stress in the Workplace - Price: $99

40% of Canadian Workers report stress-related health problems which can manifest in a physical, mental or emotional response.  This course examines a number of workplace stressors and helps develop strategies to prevent the toxic effects of workplace stress.
