- Local employee organizations are affiliated to the Yukon Federation of Labour, giving a total affiliated membership of 4,500.
- Yukon Federation of Labour affiliation is made up of public and private sector employee organizations, including such areas as government employees, mining, transportation, fire fighters, broadcasting, industrial, construction and service employees and others. Teachers at the college level are affiliated to the Yukon Federation of Labour, but teachers in the public schools are not.
- The governing body of the Yukon Federation of Labour is its Triennial delegated convention made up of delegates from all the affiliates.

Between conventions there are two governing bodies as follows:
- The Executive Board - Ranking Officers: made up of five officers elected by the full Triennial convention.
- The Executive Council: made up of the members of the Executive Board - Ranking Officers and affiliate representatives based on affiliate membership numbers.
In Yukon there are no local or regional Labour Councils as there are in the provinces. However, the four Executive Council Members provide the regional component of the governing body of the Yukon Federation of Labour between conventions.
- All affiliated organizations pay a per capita tax of $2.55 per member, per month to Yukon Federation of Labour.
- The Canadian Labour Congress assists Yukon Federation of Labour in carrying out its mandate.
